North/West Bergen/Passiac Girls Basketball (NWBP) Leagues


 2013/2014 Season


Believe it or not it is that time of year again. The first league meeting of the North/West Bergen /Passaic Girl’s Basketball League (NWBP) will be held on Monday, October 28th, 2013 at the Oakland Valley Middle School Cafeteria at 7:00 p.m.

 

Please bring a check payable to NWBP Girls Basketball League for $1,100 per team being entered. (A minimum of two teams must be entered from each town.  Single teams will only be accepted as needed to complete a division. An additional fee of $100 will be charged for towns with only one team).  The league will continue to use referee assignors. The league fee includes league registration, website, All-Star game , referee fees for league and playoff games, assignor fees and playoff trophies. Beginning this year the league will institute the use of two referee evaluators who will be assigned on an random unannounced basis to observe games and monitor referee performance. Full payment or town purchase order must be received no later than December 13, 2013. A late fee of $25 per team will be assessed for any payments received after this date. 


If you do not yet know game dates and/or coaches’ information just indicate contact person and how many teams you wish to register. (Completed registration forms must be received by November 15, 2013.) Last year the league had a total of 141 teams. (7 teams in the 3rd grade only league, 20 teams in the 3/4th8 ½ ft basket grade, 21 teams in the 5th grade league, 29 teams in the 5/6th grade league, 31 teams in a 7th grade league and 31 teams in the 7/8th grade league.) Depending on number of teams at each grade level the league attempts to place teams according to playing ability and create multiple divisions (A, B, C and D) where possible. This does not apply to the 3rd grade only or 3/4th grade divisions.


Directions to Oakland Middle School: Route 208 North to Exit #58 Route 202 Oakland. Proceed to traffic light at bottom of exit and make a left onto 202 South. Go two traffic lights and make right onto Oak Street. Go to second left into parking lot in front of school. Cafeteria is on left side of entrance. (From Wayne take 202 North to Oak St. and make left onto Oak St.)
